1) Under Cupboard Lighting Brighton & Hove

If you've ever thought to yourself while chopping vegetables or making a cup of tea  "Why is this part of the worktop always so dark?", you're not alone.

Most kitchens rely entirely on ceiling lights and, while they are fine for lighting the room in general, they often leave shadows across the worktops. That's where under cupboard lighting can come in handy.

I've fitted under cupboard lighting in kitchens across Brighton & Hove, and it's one of those upgrades that people always wish they'd done sooner. You don't have  to rip out your kitchen or spend thousands on a renovation, but it can change how the space feels and functions.

One job that sticks in my mind was a kitchen in Hanover. The customer was happy with the kitchen itself but felt in the evenings it was quite dark when prepping dinner. They phoned me up and asked if I had any solutions. So I suggested installing LED strip lighting beneath the wall units, and the difference was obvious straight away. The worktops were properly illuminated, the room felt brighter, and the whole kitchen looked more modern without changing anything else.

It is a relatively small upgrade, but it can have a surprisingly big impact.

2) Why Install Under Cupboard Lighting?

Most people contact me because they're fed up with dark spots in the kitchen.

When you're standing at the counter your body naturally casts a shadow down onto the area you are working making it frustrating when doing something precise.

As well as making the kitchen easier to use, it also adds a nice finish to the room. If you dont want to put the main lights on you can have nice warm lighting from your under cupboard lights.

3) Not All LED Lighting Is the Same

The main issue i find with LED tape is people buying cheap versions online.

On paper, it often looks like a bargain, but once it's installed, the problems start to show. You can see every individual LED (called dotting) and some products begin flickering after a relatively short time.

The difference between a good installation and a poor one usually comes down to the product used.

I take the time to position the lighting correctly and only use products that create a clean, even spread of light across the worktop.
